On Using The Perfect Wrinkle Creams For You

by Jen Hopkins

As we grow older, everything else in our body grows older as well. This includes our skin. The most evident sign of skin aging is the presence of wrinkles around the eyes, forehead and mouth as these are the areas that we move the most. This is why people resort to using wrinkle removal creams so as to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and look a few years younger.

The skin is a very elastic tissue that is meant to be stretched in order to accommodate the changes in our body. Unfortunately as we grow older, the skin slowly loses its elastic property thus making it harder to return to its original shape. This is because newer cells are slower to regenerate, as well as the loss of collagen that supports the skin. Small lines start to form slowly at first, but as we continue to grow older, these lines start to deepen and become more evident. Wrinkle creams work by countering the effects of aging skin cells to yield younger and smoother looking skin.

Wrinkle creams contain substances that are proven to reverse the effects of skin aging. Some examples of these include hydroxy acids, retinol, matrixyl, copper peptidases and tretinoin. Hydroxy acids and tretinoin work by exfoliating the skin to remove the upper layer and stimulate production of new cells. Retinol is an antioxidant which helps get rid of free radicals in the skin which contributes to wrinkle formation. Matrixyl and copper peptidases both work to stimulate the healing process and regeneration of tissue.

Another useful quality of creams is its moisturizing ability. Dry skin will contribute to faster skin aging as the skin will be more prone to damage when stretched. The hydrating capacity of most creams will ensure that the skin stays moisturized and prevents damage caused by dry skin.

Creams are not the only way to get rid of wrinkles. Other ways to get rid of wrinkles are through facial exercises or medical procedures. Both of these are effective similar to wrinkle creams but they have their own drawbacks. Facial exercises take very long before you will see visible results. You will have to be much disciplined in doing exercises which will just give minimal results after a few months. Medical procedures on the other hand, will work quickly but it costs a lot of money. Risks are also involved especially if dangerous procedures are to be done.

If you decide to use wrinkle creams, it is important that you select one that is suitable for your skin. Some creams may work for some people but it may not work for you. If you use the right wrinkle cream for your skin, it will only be a matter of weeks before you see visible results.
