Successful Routes to Rid Yourself of Stretch Marks

by Sara Kitch

For those who want to keep their skin clear and smooth looking, stretch marks are an avowed enemy. These marks are pronounced with different lengths and depths. They come out at different parts of our skin but principally in the abdomen, buttocks, breasts, upper arms, and legs. The cause of these unwanted marks is mainly the result of rapid stretching of the skin resulting from rapid growth or weight gain usually caused by puberty, pregnancy, and weight gain. The skin has a middle layer named the dermis, and after being stretched to a certain point, its elasticity breaks down which causes the stretch mark to appear.

This being the case, what can be done?

Luckily, there are options for their treatment and here listed are a few of them.

What Are the Stretch Mark Treatment Options Out There

Surgery is the route to take if you are willing to take the hit on the bank account. Surgery for stretch marks in the stomach area is called abdominoplasy surgery, or the 'tummy tuck.' It improves the appearance of the stretch marks by tightening and contouring the stomach walls which removes excess fat and skin. The negatives to this procedure are that it is expensive and painful with a long recovery time.

A second option for surgery would be what's called laser treatment. The objective of this treatment is to produce new collagen in the skin by shooting cosmetic lasers into the dermal layer. The skin plumps by the collagen thickening, which then fills in the stretch mark from below. The downside to laser treatment is that it is only mainly effective on immature stretch marks that are still red in color.

The realistic expectation of using these surgical treatments should be thought of as a 20 to 50% improvement in the appearance of the stretch marks.

If you automatically want to cancel out surgery, a great and effective alternative is microdermabrasion. One can have it done at a beauty spa or use the at home method of a microdermabrasion cream. The procedure involves using abrading microcrystals to wear down and eliminate the very top layer of the skin. This in turn creates a newer and healthier skin to replace the old and damaged one. It also makes your skin more resilient by triggering collagen and elastin production.

BIOSKINEXFOL is an especially effective microdermabrasion skin care cream to improve and eliminate the appearance of stretch marks. The dermabrasion cream produces the effect of the regeneration of skin cells which then resurfaces the skin. The natural serum in this particular cream is the product of a little creature's innate immune system that supports the protective strategies of the innate immune system of human skin. That creature is none other than the humble garden snail. Its serum mixed with all natural ingredients produce truly effective results for stretch mark removal.
